GIF cutter cut a piece out, free

By ShinobiTools Team · Last updated: September 2026

Need to cut a gif down to just the part you want? Pick where it starts and where it ends, in seconds, and download the trimmed piece — still a real, looping GIF. Free, no account, up to 400 MB.

Pick a start and end, keep the loop

Enter where the piece should start and where it should end, in seconds, and download — everything outside that window is cut away, and what's left keeps looping exactly as before.

GIFs wider than about 1280 pixels after cutting come back scaled down to fit that width, proportions kept — the same limit as every other GIF tool on this site.

Cut, crop, or something else?

This page shortens the GIF in time. Need to cut a piece out of the frame instead? Crop GIF does that. Starting from a video rather than a GIF? Our sister site has a video to GIF maker.

About your file

A browser can't re-encode a GIF's frames, so it's uploaded to our own server, cut there, and deleted the moment the job finishes — we keep no copy. Limit: 400 MB and 20 minutes of source length.

Also known as a gif trimmer

Same page under any of these: gif cutter, cut gif, trim gif, gif trimmer, gif trim, or cut gif online.

Free at full size: no watermark, no account, no trial.

Works on any device

No app needed — open this page in Safari on an iPhone or Chrome on Android, type the same two numbers, and download the cut GIF.

Common questions

How do I cut a gif online?

Enter the second it should start and the second it should end, then download. Everything outside that window is removed.

Is this gif cutter really free?

Yes. No watermark, no account, no daily cap — up to 400 MB and 20 minutes of source length.

Does cutting lose quality or add colour banding?

No — the output gets a colour palette built from your own GIF, not a generic web palette, which is what usually causes banding.

What happens to my GIF?

It's uploaded to our own server, cut there, and deleted the instant the job finishes. Nothing is kept or looked at.

Does the trimmed GIF still loop?

Yes — the cut piece keeps looping exactly like the original did.

Can I cut a wide or tall GIF?

Up to about 1280 pixels wide, yes — exactly. Beyond that the result is scaled down to fit 1280px, proportions kept.

How is this different from cropping?

Cutting shortens the GIF in time — you keep the whole frame, less of the loop. Cropping keeps the whole loop and removes part of the frame. Crop GIF does that instead.

Can I cut a GIF on my phone?

Yes — open this page in Safari or Chrome, enter the same two numbers, and download the result. No app needed.
