Every converter here is free, full size, no account.Photos convert in your browser and never leave it. Video and e-books do need our server — those we delete right after.

A clip you can barely hear, filmed too far from whoever was talking. Pick how much louder you need it — a bit, twice as loud, or much louder — and get the same video back with the sound turned up. It works the other way too if something is too loud.

What the steps actually mean

Loudness is measured in decibels, and the scale is not linear: +6 dB is roughly twice as loud to your ears, +3 dB is a noticeable lift, and +10 dB is a lot. Start at +6. If it is still too quiet, run it through again rather than reaching straight for the biggest step.

Turning it up also turns the hiss up

There is no getting round this: amplifying a recording amplifies everything in it, including the room hum and the hiss of the microphone. If the result is loud but unpleasant, the problem was never the volume — clean the noise out first with CleanGrab and then turn it up.

About your file

This tool is one of the exceptions on this site. The image converters here run entirely inside your browser and never send anything to us. Audio inside a video cannot be rewritten in a browser, so your file is uploaded to our own machine, processed there, and deleted immediately afterwards — we keep no copy.

Limits: up to 400 MB and 20 min per upload.

Want the level to even out automatically instead of one flat boost? Normalize audio does that. Need fine control over one section instead of the whole clip? Change audio volume lets you set an exact percentage. Just want the sound gone entirely? Remove audio from video strips it out.

Common questions

How do I make a video louder?

Drop it in, pick how much louder you want it and download the result. +6 dB is about twice as loud and is the usual answer.

Will it distort?

Only if the recording was already close to the maximum. If it comes back crackly, run the original through again at a smaller step.

Can I make a video quieter instead?

Yes — pick the −6 dB option.

Does the picture change?

No, only the audio is touched.

Is it really free?

Yes. No account, no watermark and no daily limit.

Does it work on audio files too?

Yes, you can drop an MP3 or WAV in as well.
