Loudness is measured in decibels, and the scale is not linear: +6 dB doubles the signal (the menu calls it twice as loud), to the ear +10 dB is closer to twice as loud, and +3 dB is a noticeable lift. Start at +6. If it's still too quiet, run it through again or type your own value (up to +30 dB) rather than reaching straight for a huge step.
