Drop in an e-book and pick where it needs to go — EPUB, MOBI, AZW3, PDF or TXT. Useful for getting a book onto a Kindle, or out of one. Free, no account, no watermark.

Why e-books need converting at all

Amazon's Kindle does not read EPUB, the format almost everything else uses — bookstores, library apps, most e-readers. Kobo, older Kindles and Kindle Fire tablets want MOBI; current Kindles prefer AZW3, which keeps more of the original formatting. Converting is the only way to move a book between the two worlds.

About your file

This is the second exception on this site, after the video compressor. A browser cannot rewrite an EPUB's internals into Kindle's MOBI format, so your file is uploaded to our server, converted there, and deleted right after — we keep no copy. Everything else here (HEIC, PNG, WEBP, JPG) still runs entirely in your browser.

Limits: up to 100 MB per file. Two convert at a time, so at busy moments you may wait a moment for your turn.

Kindle-bound specifically? EPUB to MOBI is the same converter, pre-set for that one job. Need a fixed page layout instead — for a comic or a textbook? EPUB to PDF does that.

Converted it for a book club or class discussion and need page numbers people can actually reference? ScanReviver's add page numbers stamps them across the whole file.

Don't have a digital copy of the book at all, just the physical pages? ScanReviver's book page scanner turns phone photos of each page into one clean PDF first, ready for this converter.

Common questions

How do I get an EPUB onto my Kindle?

Convert it to MOBI (older Kindles) or AZW3 (current Kindles) here, then email or copy the file to your device.

Is it free?

Yes. No account, no watermark, no per-file charge.

Is my e-book uploaded?

Yes — this is one of two tools here that does, along with the video compressor. A browser cannot rewrite an e-book's internal format, so the file goes to our server, converts, and is deleted right after.

Does converting lose formatting?

Some. EPUB and AZW3 keep the most detail; MOBI is older and simpler; PDF locks the page layout exactly; TXT throws away all formatting and keeps only the words. Complex layouts (textbooks, comics) survive PDF best.

What is the file size limit?

100 MB per file.

Can I convert PDF to EPUB?

Yes, in either direction between any of the five formats. A scanned PDF (a photo of each page) will not convert well since there is no real text to extract — a PDF made from text converts cleanly.
